and allows the user to set-up a complete database of the user's individual measurements and
discharge calculation.
Functions of Software Q include:
- Algorithms according to ISO 748: Measurement of Liquid in Open Channels.
- Discharge is computed arithmetically based on cross-sectional corresponding areas and
measured velocities.
- Velocity distribution curves of verticals, iso-velocities, specific regressions in the discharge-
rating-curve prepared automatically.
- Supports all methods from single-point, Two-point, Multi-point to Integration methods.
- Includes Finite-Difference-Algorithm.
- Free configuration of all types of velocity sensors.
- Complete database setup within the software, including output tables as Excel
spreadsheets
- Navigation within software the program and viewing of tables, graphs.
- Graphs can be copies to clip board or exported as *.bmp, *.emf of *.wmf
- The most User Friendly Software for Hydrologists

Q Vision is a state-of-the-art software system that integrates setting up and automated collection,
reporting, viewing and analysing data from the QEye Family of flow meters.
Q Vision is an easy to use program designed to operate under a variety of hardware and software
configurations. It operates as a complete data acquisition and analysis system in the stand alone
mode, or as a work station in a network environment.
Functions include:
- Flow Calculations -several flow equations including Continuity, Prandtl Colebrook, and
custom cross-sections (for non-standard pipes and irregular channels) and silt levels.
- Scatter Plots - on screen graphics allows the user perform QA/QC on flow data and
determine anomalous conditions.
- Sewer Flow Analysis - composite and comparative graphs and tables allow the user to
determine trends, analyse net flows for I/I, billing networks and mass balancing.
- Reporting - tabular and graphical data on screen, printer and any time format (daily, weekly,
monthly, yearly) and statistical format (mean, minimum, maximum, standard deviation and
regression analysis)
- External Inputs - allows for import of data from rain gauges and other flow meters with drag
and drop capabilities.
- Help - extensive on-line help screens available for each function

FlowVision is a state-of-the-art software system that integrates setting up and automated collection,
reporting, viewing and analysing data from the Transit Time TT Family of flow meters.
FlowVision is an easy to use program designed to control and setup the parameters of the
hardware and all incoming data. The program starts automatically by a WatchDog- Timer.
The structure of software FlowVision is designed for user-friendliness and expediency. It consists
of two modules:
 | | Control Software FlowVisionSA
|
 | | User Software FlowVisionDB
|
Both modules are TCPIP-Interfaced, enabling the system to communicate with various | |
Control Software FlowVisionSA mainly serves for monitoring of transmitted and received ultrasonic signals. It also shows the current status of the flow meter.
FlowVisionSA is used to commission and maintain the flow meter. In addition, some calculations are performed with the measured data (e.g. velocity etc.) and the data transferred to the software module FlowVisionDB.
The main tasks of the software are the following:
 | | Configuration and administration of the hardware system
| | | Controlling of all operational sequences in the flow meter
| | | Parametering of the flow meter
| | | Mathematical processing of the measured raw data
| | | Interface for the user (local and remote)
| | | Processing and visulaisation of the measured data | | | |
User Software FlowVisionDB is used for processing and analysing of measured data from FlowVisionSA and its management. Besides the database and its management, FlowVisionDB is able to display all incoming measured data and several other parameters of the flow meter, e.g. discharge, water level, salinity and mean flow velocity.
The main tasks of the software are the following:
 | | Management and administration of the data
| | | Visualisation of all data in the flow meter
| | | Log all service and maintenance work | | | |
SIMK is a universally applicable method, allowing precise stage and profile dependent calibrations of flow gauging stations. SIMK is based on numerical simulation of the level and profile dependent dimensionless velocity ratios. The numerical simulation is performed by application of a high resolution finite-element fluid dynamics model.
The calibration method SIMK is based on the simulation of the dimensionless profile and level dependent scaling factors k1. For this turbulent velocity distributions are simulated for rivers and channels of any shape and size by means of a numerical fluid dynamics model. The axial velocity distributions are strongly influenced by secondary currents, which prevail within the profile cross-section and which originate from impediments of the turbulent impulse exchange in the vicinity of the whole profile borders and the free water surface.
