The Flow Meters are compact instruments incorporating the latest electronics and Digital Signal
Processing technologies, realizing high performance and easy operation. With the use of
high-speed micro-processor, the response time is as fast as 1s or less. The system is well suited
to most environments.
For raw, process, sewage and wastewater influent and effluent in treatment plants and in small
pipes and channels (<1m , <3 ft) in size, the QEye PSC and QEye MAG, and DUCTUS TT flow
meters combine Digital Signal Processing (DSP) with correlation detection methods. It uses
controlled signals, whose characteristics are imposed during the transmission phase (duration,
frequency, level). The reception is therefore based on the suitable filtering of these characteristics,
accounting for the perturbations brought by the environment. The frequency modulated signals are
processed on reception by correlating the received signal with a copy of the expected signal.
Combined and separate depth/level sensors are used for calculating flow using the Continuity
Equation Q=A.Vm
The QEye PSC, mostly used for influent,
raw sewage and dirty water, reads
mean velocity directly from flow using the
reliable, field proven ultrasonic Pulse
Spectral Correlation (PSC) technology
with superior accuracy.
The QEye MAG, mostly used for effluent, clean and
process waters, reads velocity directly from the flow
using the reliable, field proven electro-magnetic
Pulse Direct Current (PDC) technology. Available as
both, mouse type and insertion type sensors, the
electrodes are self-cleaning and suitable for even
dirty media.
For large pipes (>1m, >3ft), the DUCTUS TT flow meter combines Digital Signal Processing (DSP)
with Transit-Time correlation detection methods. The use of this HydroVision's proprietary
Intelligent-Signal-Processing (ISP) results in very accurate measurements of transit time with an
excellent time resolution and a high processing gain. For very large channels, multi-path velocity
measurements can be made, either as single path or cross-path.
